The Station and its Facilities[]

Paragon Station is the oldest and now the only standing station in Hull, where there were once five seperate stations dotted around the city. We have been researching inside and out, taking measurements and finding anything and everything we can about the interior during the period of 1914.
The station itself has several main points that we need to really address. The overhead canopy of the station itself, which is unique in that there are five sections too it instead of three or seven. The ticket booth inside the booking office, which was owned and used by WH Smiths, which now stands closed and unused.

There were several different waiting areas throughout the station as well, one for each class of person around the time, ranging from Third to First class, with each facility providing their own toilets and vendors. There also used to be a hairdressers with a record shop

The Railway[]
As we found out through our research, there used to be several other railways lines that ran back during the period of 1914. There used to be a railway that ran from the station to the docks, which picked up and transported immigrants into the city center where they would then be taken down the road to the delousing house before they were moved on to somewhere else. There also used to be two other lines that ran from the station, one that ran to Withernsea and the other to Hornsea, these were later closed down and turned into an in station car park.
